I just had one of the best conversations in recent memory with my son. It was a continuation from dinner on the topic of divorce and how prevalent it is in our society. It started with a plea from my man-boy: “Please don’t get divorced.” And we went all over family history, my parents, my grandparents (his great grand-parents, of whom he’s known and has strong memories of 3!), Anne’s parents and grand parents, cousins, etc. We talked about family and the economy and just how fortunate pretty much everyone connected with our lives has been. When I noticed it was 11PM (90 minutes past his official bed time) I commented “You caught me monologuing!” To which he replied “I love you dad” and gave me a hug. I love you too, man-boy. I love you too.

You know, of course, that this likely makes you the coolest dad in existence. Yes I still read this thing.
