Killing time in Atlanta

Killing time in Atlanta, Shadows
I had my camera and a few hours to kill in the Atlanta airport this afternoon. So I went looking for inspiration. Of course that’s a little bit hard to do in a crowded, security paranoid environment. One of the pictures I desperately wanted to take was of all the little smoke glass security camera bubbles covering the ceiling in the security screening area. But I didn’t dare… I didn’t have that much time to kill.
Anyway, before arriving at security, the rotunda between the north and south terminals was filled with sunlight. For the longest time the guy in the picture up top was standing in the sun and shadows, waiting. I loved the way the light and shadows traced around him, and all the space around him. When I think of the Atlanta airport, I general think of trying to push through a crush of people in the C concourse, trying to make a connection. Seeing this space around him was odd.
Killing time in Atlanta, Skylight Sunburst
Of course that great light was coming from an awesome skylight. It took me a shot or two to light up the sun perfectly with the intersection, all while not trying to make a fool of myself.
Killing time in Atlanta, Walkway
Last up, walking on a walkway between the B and C concourses. I remember making that walk years ago and thinking it was incredibly long. Now that I’ve been in a lot more airports, it didn’t seem that long. I’m less pleased with this result–I was trying to show the movement of the people and the walkway, but, duh, I was on the walkway. Oh, fun to try anyway.
